Have you ever been up late at night, hanging out with your friends, and you begin to realize that everything you do is getting funnier by the minute until eventually you are laughing uncontrollably? Try not to enjoy it too much... ORI is taking over.
ORI is the ruler of the Nowhere; a dimension where the only thing that existed for millennia was ORI. He sat alone, willing objects in and out of existence learning to control every particle of the Nowhere. And then, one day, another being inexplicably entered his dimension and ORI was opened to the possibility that outside the boundaries of the Nowhere were others and his life-long state of boredom would end.
However, like a spoiled child, ORI could not comprehend why this being refused his control. He had always done whatever he wanted with everything he had willed into the Nowhere. Why was this newcomer resisting? This was a new experience for ORI and it did not make him happy. He began exploring outside of the Nowhere and discovered the existence of so many more dimensions other than his own. His level of power allowed him to capture other beings, then civilizations, and then worlds. He became a dimension conqueror with an insatiable thirst for conquest over these lesser beings. It isn't that ORI is cruel; he really has no concept of cruelty, empathy, love or friendship. ORI exists for ORI and life is but a game and all other beings the game pieces. His favorite game is collecting these game pieces and his favorite technique to accomplish this is through the diversion of whimsy and laughter.
So when you're up late at night, hanging out with your friends, and you begin to realize that everything you do is getting funnier by the minute until eventually you are laughing uncontrollably, Try not to enjoy it too much... ORI is taking over.
This little nuisance was created by ORI to wreak havoc on Earth. Dark Whimsy exists for the sole purpose of causing another worry for Thunder Chicken and his Poultry Powers. This magical creature of the Nowhere, not unlike his creator, has no real understanding of good and evil but simply acts on the instinct to cause any trouble possible. The real danger of this is that Dark Whimsy has no conscience and is unaware and careless of the consequences of any actions taken. This allows for a level of misfortune ranging from minor troublemaking to globally catastrophic events which threaten the existence of humanity. This means that Thunder Chicken, and any who stand for justice, must be ever vigilant of Dark Whimsy... Just as ORI intended.
